Report received by Ardrossan Taskforce : FOI review

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

  • “All Reports and consultant opinions received by the Ardrossan Taskforce regarding the new ferry terminal and pier, particularly those dealing with reliability and resilience of the ferry service.
  • A list of agencies consulted in terms of design and weather related access to Ardrossan harbour.
  • Public minutes of Task Force meetings.”

Response

I have concluded that the original decision should be confirmed in relation to most of the reports and consultant opinions received, with the exception of two documents which I am attaching.

I have considered the exemptions applied to the original request and agree with the decision to apply exemptions, in relation to the information requested, under Section 30(b)(ii), free and frank exchange of views for the purposes of deliberation, and Section 33(1)(b), commercial interests, of FOISA. I have however decided that two documents can be released which I do not consider to be covered by these exemptions. I have considered exemptions which could be applied to these documents and decided to redact some information under the exemptions stated above.

In response to the two points which you make in your letter about information being withheld on commercial grounds and on the grounds of free and frank exchange of views, I believe that Annex B in the original response details the reasoning behind these decisions. I am attaching Annex B again for your information.
