Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

Could you provide me with the Scottish Government annual budget(s), revenue and capital available to the Scottish Parliament for year 2018-19 and any additional money made available to the Scottish Government by the Chancellor of the Exchequer during 2018-19

Response

The annual budget, revenue and capital figures available to the Scottish Government for 2018-19 can be found in Table 1.02 on page 8 of the ‘Scottish Budget: 2019-20’ publication. A link to this can be found here.

Since the publication of the Scottish Budget: 2019-20 document on 12 December 2018, HM Treasury added a further £441m in Barnett Consequentials and other transfers (comprising £343m of resource funding and £98m of capital funding) to the Scottish Budget, of which £148m were consequentials from reserve claims made by Department of Health and Department of Justice (comprising £126m of resource funding and £22m of capital funding). HM Treasury have indicated that the Scottish Government will have the flexibility to draw down the £148m figure in 2019-20 due to the lateness of the notification. Details of this were published by HM Treasury on Monday 11 February.
