Mechanism by which capital funding is allocated to childcare providers: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

FOI reference: FOI/18/03453
Date received: 13 November 2018
Date responded: 13 December 2018

Information requested
The mechanism by which capital funding is, and has been, provided to childcare providers, and the recipients of funding thus far.
I would request the information includes:

1. The mechanism for allocating funding to providers broken down by each local authority area. (For example, funding may go from Scottish Government, to Angus Council to public and private sector providers in Angus Council directly. Or for another example, the Scottish Government allocates capital funding resources to the Scottish Futures Trust, who then allocate funding to providers in the Fife Council area directly).

2. A list of all recipients of capital funding for the expansion to 1140 hours thus far (up to this date) and the level of funding they received, and their category in terms of whether they are a council-run nursery, a partnership, a private provider or third sector provider), and whether this funding was used for an expansion to existing property or a completely new development.
