*NDPBS – Non Departmental Public Bodies

Appendix – Data held for Scottish Government Associated Bodies

  • Scottish Government only holds staffing information for organisations to which it provides an HR service. Data are available for all core SG directorates, most executive agencies and some non-ministerial departments but is not collected for other organisations. The following executive agencies operate their own HR service and are therefore not included; Scottish Prisons Service, Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, Scottish Courts and Tribunal Service and Registers of Scotland
  • Executive non-departmental public bodies are not consistently included in the data (unless the Scottish Government provides them an HR service) as these staff members are not civil servants.
  • Further information regarding staffing at public bodies is available on the National Public Bodies Directory which can be found at www.gov.scot/Topics/Government/public-bodies/about/Bodies.
