Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
Date received: 27 September 2018
Date responded: 24 October 2018
The amount paid to outside contractors for the delivery of Disclosure Scotland's new IT system since the original Atos contract was undelivered in roughly 2013/14. The information should include the total amounts paid to private companies and workers, broken down by each contractor.
Response
The costs relate to the progressive build of a new cloud-based technology platform, capable of securely handling sensitive information. This commenced in 2015-16 and during this period initial scoping for a new service was carried out. From 2016-17 this work has been used to develop a secure new environment, which is being expanded across all Disclosure Scotland services.
Disclosure Scotland buy services from companies, and from agencies. Where a service was bought from an agency the amount paid and the number of contractors sourced to which the payment relates has been noted. It is not possible to do that where the service is bought from a company.
These figures have been derived from our accounting records which are the source of the financial information contained within Disclosure Scotland’s Annual Report and Accounts for the relevant year.
