Information requested
Is there any record, in Scotland, of someone being sacked on the basis of a grossly inappropriate adverse performance appraisal report described as indefensible by its own author, especially a report showing heavy signs of tampering?
Response
Our response covers staff who are subject to Scottish Government Main and Scottish Government Marine terms and conditions of employment and Senior Civil Servants in the organisations listed in Annex A.
The answer to your request is there is no record, in the last 5 to 10 years, of any employees of the Scottish Government "sacked on the basis of a grossly inappropriate adverse performance appraisal report described as indefensible by its own author, especially a report showing heavy signs of tampering".
Please see attached a copy of the section of the Scottish Government's performance management policy which sets out the process that would be followed before an employee is dismissed.
