Request for information on all Bute House expenditure (running costs, expenditure, expenses and invoices).

Response

Historic and Environment Scotland are provided with Grant in Aid of £287,000 annually to support the maintenance of Bute House. The cost of the annual lease paid to National Trust for Scotland is £70,000 plus VAT; and the National Trust for Scotland invoice Scottish Government for insurance charges (which vary from year to year).

Administration and day to day management requirements are provided by Scottish Government; facilities management and cleaning services are provided as part of the wider MITIE Scottish Government contract; and catering for Scottish Government events are provided on an ad hoc basis by contractors.
