In relation to the first part of your request, the installation timetable for the A75 Crocketford and Springholm villages are as follows:

  • Construction of measures in Springholm are programmed for October to November 2017

  • Construction of measures in Crocketford are programmed for February to March 2018

Crocketford

Transport Scotland plan to upgrade the two existing vehicle activated speed limit reminder signs are either end of the village and install new speed indicator devices in the centre of the village.

Springholm

Two new sites of reverse speed discrimination traffic signals will be installed, with one located at each end of the village within the 30 mph speed limit. These will operate for both directions of traffic and are being designated to operate remotely from residential properties in order to minimise disturbance. Associated vehicle activated warning signs will be used to inform drivers of new traffic signals.

Amendments to the existing speed indicator devices will accommodate the new signs and traffic signals and upgrading of the village gateway entry treatments by installation of speed activated studs within the dragons teeth road markings.

Details of the proposals, for both Crocketford and Springholm will be presented at a public meeting in Springholm in August, at which time all residents of the village will have the opportunity to comment on the design.
