Violence Prevention Framework for Scotland: Fairer Scotland Duty summary
This assessment evaluates the equality and socio-economic impacts of the Violence Prevention Framework for Scotland.
Summary of evidence
A number of sources of information have been used in order to frame this assessment and the development of the Framework. This includes a selection of social research evidence from a range of Scottish Government and other sources, on the context and drivers of violence, and interventions to prevent and reduce violent crime. These include the Scottish Crime and Justice Survey, Recorded Crime Statistics, criminal proceedings in court, hospital admissions due to assault, and the Repeat Violent Victimisation research. Evidence suggests those negatively affected by outcome inequalities are most likely to have experience of violence, as such the framework has the potential to impact this group significantly and improve outcomes.
