Adult social care support and community health - learning and improvement framework: equality impact assessment
Equality impact assessment (EQIA) relating to the development of the Scottish learning and improvement framework for adult social care support and community health (SLIF).
Conclusion
The Equality Impact Assessment undertaken for the SLIF has demonstrated that the framework has the potential to support services in meeting the requirements of the Public Sector Equality Duty, while enabling the delivery of more consistent, person‑led and rights‑based care across adult social care support, social work and community health services.
Many positive impacts were identified across all protected characteristic groups; however, the assessment also highlighted areas where barriers persist, particularly regarding cultural awareness and the experiences of disabled people, minority ethnic communities, women and LGBTQI+ community members.
The actions identified through this EQIA, supported by learning from the SLIF digital tool testing phase and an iterative annual review will help ensure that equality considerations remain embedded as the framework develops and evolves.
