Energy Performance of Buildings (Scotland) Regulations 2025: non-domestic buildings research
This research presents an illustrative comparison between the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) ratings of five archetypal non-domestic buildings in Scotland when calculated using the current and revised rating systems.
Appendix A
We understand that an analysis by the Scottish Government on the public datasets of the Scottish non-domestic EPC Registry, summarised in Table 5, has indicated that the majority of buildings are likely to perform better (i.e., achieve a better rating/band) under the new, comparative rating system compared to the current absolute rating system.
