Response

You requested copies of all documents held by Transport Scotland, to include but not limited to, emails, printouts, reports and files relating to the pavement resurfacing work that has been carried out since February 2025 and is ongoing by Amey on the A737 through Kilwinning.

Transport Scotland produced a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) to allow for the temporary restriction or prohibition of traffic, including vehicles and pedestrians, on a road or public right of way at this location. Details are available from Transport Scotland's website at The A737 Trunk Road (Dalry Road) (Temporary Prohibition on Waiting, Loading and Unloading) Order 2025 | Transport Scotland.

Under regulation 6(1)(b) of the EIRs, we do not have to give you information which is already publicly available and easily accessible to you in another form or format. If, however, you do not have internet access to obtain this information from the website(s) listed, then please contact me again and I will send you a paper copy. No other emails, printouts, reports and files relating to the pavement resurfacing work that has been carried out since February 2025 are held by Transport Scotland.

You requested the total initial projected cost of this work, the current projected cost of this work, and full details of why there is any variance.

The total initial projected cost of this work was £126,639.98 and the current projected cost of this work is £126,639.98. There is no variance to these totals.

You requested details of the initial scheduled timeframe for this work, the current expected timeframe, and full details as to why there is any variance.

Transport Scotland's Operating Company, Amey, advise this work was initially scheduled for 10 weeks. This has now been extended to 12 weeks. The variance has occurred as a result of road space issues and construction difficulties.

You requested the initial projected cost of traffic management, the current projected cost of traffic management, and full details of any variance. You also requested the exact sum of money that has been paid to traffic management companies to date.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance Transport Scotland does not have some of the information you have requested. Therefore we are refusing your request under the exception at regulation 10(4)(a) of the EIRs. Transport Scotland does not have this information because Traffic Management is included in the cost of the works and is not claimed or paid for separately. Any costs for Traffic Management for any extended period of works is borne by the Operating Company.

You asked for the number of complaints received in relation to this work. I can confirm a total of 58 complaints have been logged by Transport Scotland's Operating Company, Amey, in relation to this work. No complaints have been received directly by Transport Scotland.
