Easy Read Interim National Care Service Advisory Board: Advice to Scottish Ministers and Council Leaders - Composition of the final National Care Service Advisory Board

Easy read version of the advice from the Interim National Care Service Advisory Board to Scottish Ministers and Council Leaders on the composition of the final National Care Service Advisory Board.

Advice to Scottish Ministers and Council leaders

The interim Board thinks these people should be on the final Advisory Board:

  • an Independent Chair (leader of the Board)
  • 7 members with experience of working in health and social care
  • 5 members with experience of health and social care services

The interim Board also thinks there should be a Deputy Chair. The Deputy Chair would lead the final Board if the Independent Chair was unable to attend a meeting.

The interim Board thinks that some other people should be invited to future Advisory Board meetings. They would come to meetings to give advice but would not be members.

They are:

  • the Scottish Government’s Director for Social Care and National Care Service Development
  • COSLA’s Director of People Policy
  • the Scottish Government’s Chief Social Work Adviser

The interim Board thinks that they could also sometimes invite the Scottish Government’s:

  • Chief Nursing Officer
  • Chief Medical Officer
