Brings together 61 equality and human rights mainstreaming actions from across the Scottish Government in one accessible plan, supporting equality, diversity and inclusion in policy and practice.


Other Strategies and Future Work

Many Scottish Government strategies already play an important role in mainstreaming equality and human rights. These include:

  • Best Start, Bright Futures – Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan
  • Equally Safe Delivery Plan
  • Disability Equality Plan
  • Women’s Health Plan
  • Improving the Lives of Scotland’s Gypsy/Travellers
  • Fair Work Action Plan
  • Faith and Belief Engagement Strategy
  • Scotland’s National Action Plan on Human Rights
  • New Scots Refugee Integration Strategy
  • British Sign Language (BSL) National Plan

Looking ahead, the Scottish Government is working on important new plans to make people aware of equality and human rights across the country. These include:

  • A new Equality Strategy for Women and Girls. This will be shaped by people with lived experience.
  • An updated Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
  • Education reforms that will tackle racism and help gender and LGBT+ equality.
  • The Open Government Action Plan. This will focus on being more open about our work and involving the public in what we do.
  • An updated Equality Evidence Strategy. This will improve how equality information is collected and used.
  • A new Women’s Health Plan expected in 2026.
