Equality and human rights mainstreaming action plan: easy read
Brings together 61 equality and human rights mainstreaming actions from across the Scottish Government in one accessible plan, supporting equality, diversity and inclusion in policy and practice.
Summary of Actions in the Plan
There are lots of different actions in this plan. Each action is linked to one of 6 key areas of the Mainstreaming Strategy. Here are some examples of actions:
Strong leadership
Set up a system for showing public authorities how to use the Public Sector Equality Duty. This will help organisations to do better.
Being open about what we do
Create a Human Rights Tracker Tool to make information on human rights easier to access.
Make better rules
Work to make human rights part of Scots law. Extend reporting on pay gaps to include ethnicity and disability.
Get more facts and involve people with experience
Use what we learned to improve how equality information is collected and used across government.
Get better at what we do
Raise awareness of human rights across public and voluntary organisations. Give disability equality training to all Scottish Government staff.
Make sure we can do the work needed
Share knowledge about equality. Look at how budget decisions affect women’s outcomes. This will mean more equality in future budgeting decisions.
