Gender policy coherence: annual statement - easy read
An Easy Read version of the Annual Statement on Gender Policy Coherence.
Making decisions that affect women and girls
The Advisory Council told us that women and girls must be supported to:
- be involved in making decisions that affect them
- take part in designing policies and services so they work well for them
To support this to happen we have:
- done research about how to involve women and girls in designing policies and services
- made new guidance, standards and ways of working to support people to take part
- trained government staff to better include women and girls in designing policies and services
- started delivering the Equality Data Improvement Programme that:
- collects information on women and other equality groups like disabled people or people from a minority ethnic background
- uses the information to help people in government understand how policies and decisions affect women and girls
