Gender policy coherence: annual statement - easy read

Introduction

This is an Easy Read report.

It is our first report on how we are making the lives of woman and girls in Scotland better.

More than half of the people living in Scotland are women.

But the world does not treat women equally to men.

This report explains what work is being done to make this better.

When we say ‘us’ or ‘we’ in this report, we

mean the Scottish Government.

We have done a lot of good work in the last few years.

But there is still more work to do.

There is a group of women called The First Minister’s National Advisory Council on Women and Girls.

In this document we will call them the Advisory Council for short.

This report explains what the Advisory Council told us and what we did next.
