Disabled People's Cabinet Forum: report - easy read

What we want to happen

We want to use what we learned in the forum to make better policies about:

• social care
• mental health
• transport
• jobs
• support with money

We also want:

• the government to understand people's disabilities better
• government services and organisations to work together
• it to be clearer who is responsible for making things better

The Forum should become a regular part of the Disability Equality Plan.

Future Forums should continue to:

• involve disabled people in deciding what needs to change
• involve disabled people in checking if the changes are happening

People also wanted:

• more time to talk and discuss things
• disabled people and the government to continue working together in the same way as the first Forum
