Developing a Mental Health Experience of Services (MHES) Survey for Scotland
This report explores and summarises the requirements from and options for a National Mental Health Experience of Services (MHES) survey. The MHES would gather regular data on service user experiences and help inform standards measurement and service improvement, policy development and NHS reform.
Footnotes
1 Examples of comparable surveys were not included in the question text, and as this was a closed question respondents were not able to suggest surveys they thought would be helpful to consider.
2 Interviewees were asked to share relevant learning from their experiences of conducting surveys and/or discussed ethics in relation to a future MHES survey. Three quarters of TLB survey respondents answered an open question on ethical considerations over half answered an open question on privacy and data governance. Responses to these questions overlapped, and the core themes are combined and presented in this chapter.
