Financial support

If you have concerns about money, contact the Money Talk Team. They are part of the Citizens Advice network in Scotland. The team can help you see what benefits you might be entitled to. They can also offer advice to help make your money go further. You can call the team on 0800 085 7145.

People who are eligible can apply for Universal Credit or Employment and Support Allowance. The UK Government has introduced some changes to make this process easier.

The Scottish Welfare Fund is available to people in crisis and in need of financial support.

Support with energy bills

Ofgem are offering advice if you need support to pay you gas or electricity bills. This includes:

  • help with pre-payment meters
  • reviewing payment plans
  • information on hardship funds that might be available from your provider

Support to access cash

To access pension or benefit payments in your Post Office card account, contact DWP’s benefit enquiry line on 0800 169 0310. They can provide help with alternative payment methods if needed.

To access support from your bank contact them directly.
