Correspondence relating to the discussion of violence among pupils in Scotland's schools: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

Copies of all correspondence sent to or from Scottish Government Ministers and/or Cabinet Secretaries in 2022 and 2023 to date in which there is discussion of violence among pupils in Scotland's schools.

To confirm, we interpreted this request as all correspondence sent from members of the public to Scottish Government ministers and/or Cabinet Secretaries. Responses to the correspondence are issued from officials and so these were not included in the scope of this request.

Response

Firstly, I would like to apologise for the delay in responding to you. Due to the highly sensitive information in the correspondence you requested, particular care and consideration had to be given to this case.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance a lot of the information you have requested has been redacted because an exemption under section 38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA applies to that information.

I have enclosed a copy of the redacted correspondence at Annex A.
