Practical arrangements

Times of service provision

Local authorities will decide what learning and childcare arrangements for the children of key workers and vulnerable children are most appropriate for local circumstances.

We have asked, where possible and appropriate, that provision is made available beyond the school day, in partnership with providers of out of school care and after school and holiday clubs. However, this will depend on the provision that local authorities are able to make in their local areas.

Critical childcare and learning provision is expected to be open over Spring Break for vulnerable children and for children of key workers who cannot make their own childcare arrangements. Provision will be staffed on a volunteer basis and exact arrangements will vary according to local needs.

Starting dates for provision

We are working closely with local authorities to get critical childcare and learning provision in place as soon as we can.
