Children and young people affected by deprivation

Schools and other educational setting offer a safe, warm and comfortable environment for many children and young people who are affected by deprivation.

Local authorities should determine which children and young people from the most deprived backgrounds will require access local hubs to engage in learning, have access to care and support, and get free school meals.

It is recognised that there will be a wide range of circumstances in which decisions will require to be made in order to meet children and young people‚Äôs needs.
