Who this guide is for

The purpose of this guidance is to provide:

  • guidance to the social care sector, visiting professionals, residents, tenants, service users and their family and friends on the wearing of face masks and coverings when in social care settings
  • clarity to social care staff and visiting professionals on the type of masks or face coverings they should be wearing and when and where these should be worn within the social care settings
  • further guidance to support the National Infection Prevention Control Manual Appendix 22 - community IPC COVID - 19 Pandemic related to the use of face masks
