The following resources should be used by businesses to make customers aware of their duty to provide contact details, and to make them aware of how their data will be used.

We urge all premises with the means to use the free ‘Check-in Scotland’ digital product.  Guidance and a user toolkit can be found at: Check-in Scotland -

For those premises who are not able to use this facility then it is still a legal requirement that you record the contact details of those visiting your premises and the guidance and support resources here will help you do that.

The privacy notice can be downloaded and made available in premises to make customers aware of how their data will be used and protected.

The Data Protection Impact Assessment outlines the assessment undertaken of the impact of mandatory collection of contact details in hospitality premises to assist contact tracing, in compliance with the requirements of the GDPR.
