Ongoing restrictions

We are legally bound to keep restrictions in place only insofar as, and for as long as, they are necessary and proportionate.

We will carry out rigorous Four Harms assessments and impact assessments to demonstrate that the measures in place continue to meet these tests. In doing so, we will demonstrate that fundamental rights have been recognised, protected and given priority in the development of these proposals.

Our extensive programme of engagement is central to achieving this and ensuring, as far as possible, that a consistent approach is taken across different sectors.
