Businesses and premises that must remain closed

Businesses and premises that must remain closed

The following businesses and premises must remain closed. This reflects regulations that are in force.

  • soft play centres
  • nightclubs
  • indoor theatres and concert halls – blood donation sessions can be held at these venues

These businesses and venues must remain closed as they involve prolonged close social contact, which increases the chance of infection spreading.

Local measures: we advise that you continue to review our information page on local measures for any restrictions that may affect businesses and premises in local areas.

Blood donation services

Public venues that host blood donation sessions can continue to open temporarily for these services only. There is a legal requirement on the person responsible for the centre to ensure that reasonable measures are taken to ensure that a distance of two metres is maintained between people on the premises (other than between members of the same household or a carer and the person they are assisting).

Length of closure

This guidance comes into effect immediately and extends until further notice.
