Regulations

There are two sets of regulations which underpin these rules;

Health Protection (Coronavirus) (International Travel) (Scotland) Regulations 2020 – The requirements for individuals to complete the Passenger Locator Form and self-isolate. They also include a list of exempt countries or territories and a small number of sectoral exemptions. These are reviewed and updated regularly.

Health Protection (Coronavirus, Public Health Information for Passengers Travelling to Scotland) Regulations 2020 – The duties that are also placed on transport operators to provide passengers with information throughout the passenger journey.These regulations were amended on 30 October. The Department for Transport has guidance on the requirements placed on operators.  This has been updated to reflect the recent amendments to the regulations. While the guidance is for England the requirements detailed are the same as those for Scotland, however the guidance should be read alongside the relevant regulations.
