Food, drink and merchandise sales

Food outlets, caf├ęs and retail outlets, including any food, drink or retail facilities inside a soft play centre can open in accordance with the latest Scottish Government guidance listed below. However, the decision of whether to provide food, drink and merchandise involves being compliant with additional forms of guidance, and so should not be taken lightly. It will be for individual soft play operators to consider whether to sell food, drink or merchandise on their premises.

If food and drink is provided in soft play centres, this should be limited to a clearly demarcated area, the operation of which would fall under the Tourism and Hospitality guidance referenced below.

Operating restaurants/ hospitality outlets in accordance with Tourism and Hospitality Sector Guidance. Please also see the Food Standards Scotland COVID-19 Guidance for Food Business Operators and Their Employees
