Coronavirus (COVID-19): guidance for care at home, housing support and supported housing

Guidance for local authorities, Health and Social Care Partnerships (HSCPs) and registered providers, who deliver care and support to people in their own homes or provide supported accommodation including sheltered housing, extra care housing and supported living during the pandemic.

Scotland’s Strategic framework update for tackling COVID-19 published on 22 February 2022 sets out a vision for adult social care.

The purpose of this guidance is to provide clarity on the measures that should continue to be taken as we move towards living with COVID-19, when providing care and support to individuals (who may still be more vulnerable to COVID-19) within:

  • the community
  • their own home
  • supported housing

Another purpose of this guidance is to clarify that people living in supported housing settings should follow the same guidance as the general public.

The guidance also provides links to further guidance for providing care and support, and using communal spaces in supported housing settings.
