Coronavirus (COVID-19): clinical guidance for managing patients

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic may continue to put health and social care services across Scotland under unprecedented additional pressure and will require increased overall capability and capacity of the NHS in Scotland. This guidance is intended to support NHS staff with decision making during this pandemic.

It is important that given the rapidly evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, that this clinical guidance is viewed in the current clinical and healthcare context. Scottish Government will aim to keep this guidance up to date, but it should be noted that the most up to date guidance on a range of COVID-19 related topics will in future, be found elsewhere. For example, a range of infection prevention and control guidance has been produced by Health Protection Scotland and is available at Health Protection Scotland (HPS) advice.
