2. About this consultation

2.1 A public consultation ran from 27 February to 26 May 2026. It invited views on whether:

• the SBC's functions under the 2020 Act were appropriate; and
• the bodies subject to the SBC’s oversight and code of practice under the 2020 Act were appropriate.

2.2 The consultation also invited any other comments in relation to the matters raised and which respondents considered had not been covered by any of the earlier questions.
