Communities Analysis Division: code of practice compliance
This code includes a statistical workplan, how we engage with users and quality management information.
Introduction
Communities Analysis Division (CAD) provides analytical advice and evidence to support housing, poverty, social security and equalities policy. It also includes Rent Service Scotland and the Centre for Housing Market Analysis.
The division provides analytical advice and evidence on the following topics:
- housing
- homelessness
- fuel poverty
- equalities and human rights
- Social Security policy
- poverty and social justice
- planning
It also manages the cross-cutting Scottish Household Survey and produces the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation.
The Code of Practice for Statistics: Edition 3.0 introduced a requirement for statistics producers to publish compliance information. This should demonstrate how Scottish Government upholds the pillars of trustworthiness, quality and value, and give users confidence that official statistics are produced to the highest standards.
This document includes the 2026 to 2027 statistical workplan for CAD. It sets out how the division engages with users of our data and evidence and directs users to quality management information for specific statistical releases.
