Composition of cereal production in 2022
Barley accounts for 63% of total cereals produced in Scotland in 2022. Most barley in Scotland is spring barley. Spring barley makes up around 51% of total cereal production. Around 12% of total cereals is winter barley.
Wheat is the second most widespread crop, making up around 32% of total cereal production.
Oats contribute around 5% to total cereals produced.
