Care Home Services (Visits to and by Care Home Residents) (Scotland) Regulations 2026: final Island communities impact assessment
An Island communities impact assessment undertaken to consider and assess whether the impact of the Care Services (Visits to and by Care Home Residents) (Scotland) Regulations 2026 is significantly different to the impact on other communities.
Mitigation
20. While some impacts specific to island communities have been identified, particularly in relation to increased travel for Essential Care Supporter to care homes, these are mitigated by the legislation which allows residents to designate more than one Essential Care Supporter and plans to ensure that the code recommends that care homes provide timely updates to family/ friends on visiting arrangements. This will help reduce any burden on single individuals, especially in outlying areas.
