The Breast Screening Modernisation Programme Chair and the Programme Team wish to express their enormous gratitude to all those who have supported and participated in the activity of the Modernisation Programme.

In particular we would like to thank the following:

• The Scottish Government Screening Policy Team for their commitment to Breast Screening and for having the foresight and vision to give us the opportunity to develop this report.
• All the members of the Modernisation Board, its Short-Life Working Groups and the Management Model Reference Group, who have given their time, energy and ideas over the course of the programme.
• The Clinical Directors, Superintendent Radiographers and Breast Screening Centre managers from the six centres in Scotland, who have found time to support the work of the Programme alongside the day-to-day running of a Breast Screening Service still recovering from the impact of Covid-19.

On a personal note as Chair, I would like to extend my grateful thanks to the Breast Screening Modernisation Team: Gareth Brown, Tasmin Sommerfield, Alison Fraser, Edmund Rooney, Kyle Stuart and Michelle Martins. I have worked with many exceptional teams over the course of my professional career, and this is one of the very best. Knowledgeable, skilled, professional and imaginative, they have guided and supported this enormous project with humour and dedication above and beyond the needs of their assigned roles. It has been an honour and a privilege to work with them all.
