In Wave 78, businesses not permanently stopped trading were asked if they had experienced any difficulties recruiting employees in February 2023.
Figure 1: Difficulties in recruiting employees had been experienced by an estimated 44.2% of applicable businesses. The highest rates of recruitment difficulties were reported by businesses in the Construction (64.4%) and Arts, Entertainment & Recreation (54.6%) industry sectors.
