In Wave 68 the BICS asked businesses how employees' hourly wages in September 2022 compared with wages in August 2022.
Around a quarter of businesses (24.9%) reported that wages increased in September 2022, compared to August 2022. The share of businesses reporting that wages increased is higher in Wave 68 than in the previous wave - 24.9% compared to 16.2% in Wave 65. In Wave 68, the sectors with the highest shares of businesses reporting that wages have increased were Accommodation & Food Services (35.4%), Transport & Storage (26.2%) and Construction (25.2%). These three sectors also had the highest shares of businesses reporting wage increases in Wave 65.
