Selling to the rest of the UK

For the first time, businesses which had not permanenty stopped trading were asked whether they had sold goods or services to customers in other UK nations in the last 12 months. An estimated 37.6% reported that they had, with 55.0% reported they had not and the rest (7.5%) reported they were unsure. Large businesses were more likely (64.1%) to have sold to other UK nations than small to medium sized businesses (34.7%).

These businesses who did sell to the rest of the UK were also asked about challenges they faced with this. Just over half (53.4%) reported they did not experience any challenges. The most commonly reported challenges were transport costs (18.1%), supply chain disruption (12.9%) and challenges related to the Northern Ireland Protocol (10.0%).
