Business Insights and Conditions Survey (BICS) weighted Scotland data up to survey period 1 June to 14 June 2026 (Wave 158). The BICS provides statistics on how current conditions are affecting businesses in Scotland, including impact on financial performance, workforce, trade and resilience.

Turnover

Businesses that were currently trading were asked how their turnover in May 2026 compared with the previous calendar month.

Figure 4: Around 3 in 10 (29.8%) businesses reported that their turnover had increased in May 2026 compared with the previous month, which was up on April 2026 (24.3%), but in line with May 2025 (27.5%).
