Business Concerns

In the period 3 March to 16 March 2025, the BICS asked businesses about their main concerns for April 2025.

Figure 1: The main concerns for businesses for April 2025 were taxation (18.0%) and falling demand of goods and services (13.8%); this is the first time in the series that taxation has been the top concern for businesses.

Small to medium sized businesses (10 to 249 employees) were more likely to be concerned about taxation than large businesses (250+ employees). Taxation was the main concern for 19.1% of small to medium sized businesses, compared to 8.2% of large businesses.
