Declaration of end of Avian Influenza Prevention Zone.
Declaration of Revocation of Avian Influenza Prevention Zone
The Avian Influenza and Influenza of Avian Origin in Mammals (Scotland) Order 2006
The Scottish Ministers declared the whole of Scotland to be an Avian Influenza Prevention Zone by declaration made under article 6(1)(a) of the Avian Influenza and Influenza of Avian Origin in Mammals (Scotland) Order 2006 (“the Order”) at 16:55 on 3 November 2021 (“the Declaration of an Avian Influenza Prevention Zone”), and which took effect at 17:00 on 3 November 2021. The Declaration of an Avian Influenza Prevention Zone was amended by declaration made at 13:25 on 24 November 2021 which took effect at 00:01 (a.m.) on 29 November 2021, and was further amended by declaration made at 12:00 (p.m.) on 29 March 2022 with immediate effect, and declaration made at 18:34 on 27 April 2022, which took effect at 00:01 (a.m.) on 2 May 2022.
The Scottish Ministers have carried out a further risk assessment under article 6(1) of the Order, subsequent to which the Scottish Ministers consider that the restrictions and requirements imposed in the Declaration of an Avian Influenza Prevention Zone are no longer necessary to reduce the risk of transmission of avian influenza to poultry or other captive birds in Scotland from wild birds or from any other source.
Under article 4(1)(b) of the Order, the Scottish Ministers accordingly declare that the Declaration of an Avian Influenza Prevention Zone, together with the declarations of amendment made on 24 November 2021, 29 March 2022 and 27 April 2022, are revoked.
This declaration takes effect from 12:00 (noon) on 16 August 2022.
Signed,
Sheila Voas
