Items and actions

Welcome and introductions

The Chair opened the meeting and thanked everyone for coming along.

The minutes of the previous meeting were agreed.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde data presentation

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde gave a presentation on their experience of collecting LD data for implementation of annual health checks.

Following on from the presentation, members went on to discuss ‘did not attend’ (DNA) trends. It was recognised that there were increased DNAs from individuals within a care provider setting.

The Group were advised that at future National Implementation Group meetings there is interest from third sector organisations and care providers to come along to discuss with Boards on how they can support with the delivery of health checks.

PCIS Programme: Stage one delivery plans/discussion

A presentation was given on the PHS PCIS Programme, which will extract GP data to improve understanding of prevalence and health and healthcare outcomes experienced by people with learning disabilities.

The Group were asked to provide feedback on what conditions should be prioritised in the extract. It was agreed that a list of conditions would be circulated round the group.

LD data updates NHS Boards

A number of Boards provided an update on their work.

NHS Lothian updated the group on their work with GP data reporting that an extract of Lothian-wide LD data with CHI numbers is in progress. They are due to receive this information by 18 March.

NHS Grampian provided an update on staffing. The member of staff undertaking the AHC co-ordination role has now finished and the work will be moved out to local teams.

LD Data Advisor update

An update was provided on the work of the MORSE national template development. Revised meeting dates will be circulated amongst those interested.

An update was provided on TrakCare and plans to build a national AHC template using this platform. Four Health Boards have agreed to being involved in developing a standardised form.

Following from a previous request from SG for Health Boards to provide case studies which demonstrate the impact of annual health checks, officials are still looking for more case studies and support was offered in completing the case study template. The template will be reissued to members.

Date of next meeting

The next meeting will take place in June 2026. The date will be circulated to the group in due course.
