The Chair welcomed everyone to the meeting.

Updates from Scottish Government

Scottish Government officials reminded members that the national data collection survey for health checks in 2024/25 has been issued, with responses due by Friday 30 May 2025. Members were reminded that once the data collection is complete, the data will be published and broken down by Health Board area. 

Officials also noted that they have received several enquires from individuals with a learning disability, as well as from family members, seeking guidance on how to contact their local Health Board to arrange a  health check. Boards were asked to consider how best to handle and redirect such enquires, and to provide feedback at the next meeting.

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) informed members that they are currently undertaking work to explore support for individuals with profound and multiple learning disabilities. SeveralBoards expressed an interest in contributing to this work.


Health Board update presentation – NHS Borders

NHS Borders delivered a presentation to the Group, providing and update on the progress made by the Health Board. 
Following the presentation, members discussed the importance of celebrating the achievements of the roll out of health checks, highlighting  how this could help raise awareness and encourage greater uptake of of health checks.
