Cyber resilience and economic opportunities

As part of our work to develop Scotland as a digital nation, we aim to build on Scotland's cyber resilience capabilities to realise new economic opportunities.

By supporting companies, academics and the public sector to work together to innovate and increase their offering of cyber security goods and services for domestic and export markets, we aim to attract investment in these companies and to encourage global companies to relocate here.

Economic Opportunity Action Plan

Developed in partnership with our enterprise agencies, the National Cyber Resilience Leaders’ Board, the private sector and academia, the Economic Opportunity Action Plan sets out the key practical steps we and our partners will take collectively to:

  • grow Scotland’s cyber security industry
  • encourage the development of innovative cyber security research
  • deliver world-leading cyber security goods and services over the period to 2021

Our collective aim is to put Scotland in a position to reap the economic benefits that the ever-growing global demand for cyber security goods and services will bring.
