Another A9 Dualling Contract Award
Ground Investigation contract awarded.
Following on from a million pound ground investigation contract awarded last week, a further contract, worth over two million pounds, has been awarded today.
The contract, to progress the A9 Dualling programme, has been awarded to Soil Engineering Geoservices Ltd.
Ground Investigation work on the over 13 mile Killiecrankie to Glen Garry section of the A9 is expected to begin next month and be completed by the end of the year.
Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Jobs & Fair Work, Keith Brown said:
“The A9 Dualling programme between Perth and Inverness is one of the largest and most challenging infrastructure projects in Scotland’s history and as we continue to work across the programme, these further ground investigations will support the ongoing design work for this significant and well-used section of the route between Killiecrankie and Glen Garry.
“Over the next few months we will be carrying out ground investigations across the programme and some of this work will take place on or near the live carriageway. In order to ensure the safety of both road workers and road users we will need to introduce traffic management arrangements.
“The public will be kept informed of our plans and we will endeavour to ensure that any disruption is kept to a minimum, recognising there are ongoing construction works between Kincraig and Dalraddy, and also maintenance works planned on the A9 in June and July.”
