Water Industry Investment Group

Overview

This group ensures that the water industry is developing a sufficient programme of investment to meet the objectives that ministers set, and that the industry is delivering on these objectives. The group provides assurance to Scottish ministers.

Originally formed as the Scottish Government Investment Group (SGIG) in September 2023 when it was agreed to merge the Delivery Assurance Group (DAG) and Investment Planning and Prioritisation Group (IPGG) into a single group.  The group was renamed to the Water Industry Investment Group (WIIG) in March 2025.

We both chair and operate the WIIG. The group meets four times per year and operates at a strategic level.
