Aerospace Response Group

Overview

The aerospace sector in Scotland, and globally, has experienced significant reductions in demand for manufacturing components for new aircraft as well as for aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) activities as a result of the collapse in demand for air travel due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  The scale of the disruption is unprecedented in the history of the industry.

The Aerospace Response Group will bring together a collective group from across industry, trade unions and central and local government with the aim of preserving Scotland’s aerospace manufacturing and R&D capability and safeguarding jobs.

  • develop a response to the Covid-19 pandemic for the aerospace sector, support the safeguarding jobs and, where appropriate, explore capacity and capability on new markets and opportunities
  • seek to develop an action plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic for the aerospace sector in Scotland by the Autumn 2020
