Tim Mcdonnell was appointed Director of Primary Care in May 2021.
Tim joined the Scottish Government in December 2018 and was most recently Head of Marine Scotland Science. Prior to this, Tim had worked in the UK Ministry of Defence, HM Treasury, Home Office, HM Courts Service and the Department for Constitutional Affairs.
He is passionate about disability rights and disability access and has mentored a number of disability university students since 2010, helping several to both enter and develop within the civil service. Tim studied law at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is now married and lives in Angus. In his spare time, Tim follows Fulham Football Club. He adores open water swimming and exploring the Scottish outdoors.
