Responsibilities

The Director of Local Government and Housing is responsible for the Local Government and Housing Directorate.

Biography

Sean was appointed Director of Local Government and Communities in May 2021. Due to a restructure in February 2022, this post became the Director of Local Government and Housing on 1 April 2022.

Sean joined the Scottish Government in 2002 after working in the banking industry as an economist. Previous roles include both director and deputy director posts for NHS Workforce, as Chief Executive of Scottish Fiscal Sustainability and as Deputy Director of Fiscal Sustainability.

Sean has a daughter and a son. He was born in Northern Ireland and has lived in Scotland since 1996.
